Toes are sure to be tapping when Old Waconian, BBC Proms presenter, and Strictly Come Dancing star, Katie Derham will host a musical extravaganza with over two hundred Cheadle Hulme School performers, all in the name of charity.

On Tuesday 13th October from 7.30pm, the 80-minute event Feeling Good Music, will see students of CHS’s talented Concert Band, Orchestras, Studio Band, Chamber Choir and Canoturm perform a celebration of sounds from Coldplay to Stevie Wonder, and John Williams to Duke Ellington at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Proceeds from the ticket sales will raise money for the nationwide charity Music In Hospitals, of which Katie is Vice-President, as well as the School’s Bursary Fund.

Conductor and Director of Music at Cheadle Hulme School, Mr Philip Dewhurst said: “All the students have been practising hard and are really looking forward to performing at such a wonderful venue and meeting Katie”.

Sid Richards, Northern Development Manager of Music in Hospitals said: “The funds raised by the concert will help bring the therapeutic benefits of live music to those who need it most, including those with a range of complex medical conditions and physical disabilities.”

All music lovers (and Strictly fans!) are welcome to come along to the show – tickets are on sale now from the RNCM Box Office priced £12 per person – phone 0161 907 5555 or can be booked online here.
