Pawsome House Fundraising

CHS ‘Martians’ were delighted to receive a furry visitor last Friday, marking the beginning of the School’s House fundraising endeavours for the academic year.

At CHS, each House fundraises for a chosen charity throughout the academic year. The system gives pupils an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities as a team, with a shared goal.

From bake sales to Easter egg tombolas, Senior School Waconians will be involved in a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. The total amount collected will then be divided among the four House charities.

This year’s chosen charities are Arc Centre Stockport, Ronald McDonald House, 100 Hearts for Harry, and Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home.

Katie and Anna, both volunteers at Manchester and Cheshire Dogs’ Home, took the stage to enlighten pupils about the charity and the specific equipment that the School’s fundraising efforts will support.

The duo also introduced special guest Milly, who was once a part of Manchester Dogs’ Home, until she was adopted by volunteer Katie.

Pupils then gathered to surprise Milly with a lovingly put together crate full of lots of goodies for all of the pups currently awaiting adoption in the Dogs’ Homes.
