Sharks Rugby Select Ollie and Noah for Player Development

CHS rugby players Ollie and Noah are cutting their teeth in the big league now they have been selected to join the Sale Sharks U15s Player Development Group (SDG).

Chosen for the academy after playing as part of the Sharks’ Developing Player Programme (DPP) the SDG is the next stage in the player pathway for rugby players aged 14-16 years, which aims to further support players’ development in their game.

Year 10 students Ollie and Noah have begun their training at the Sale Sharks training ground in Carrington and will continue with both rugby and gym sessions until May.

The training sessions deal with all aspects of the game including fitness, strategy, nutrition, and how to prevent injury.

As part of the programme, Ollie and Noah use the same gym as the Sale Sharks first team, and both have received a full kit and season ticket for Sale Sharks, all funded by the club.

If selected for the team, Ollie and Noah will compete in a series of fixtures in April, playing against Cardiff Schools at Myerscough College, Newcastle Falcons and Yorkshire Carnegie in a home game at Carrington, and will also take part in the Regional Academies Festival at University of Sheffield in May.

Congratulations!
