Sights set on Sixth Form as Year 11 celebrate GCSE Success

Congratulations to our Year 11 students who will next month, swap their green blazers for the School’s navy Sixth Form blazers after achieving an impressive set of GCSE results.

CHS Head Neil Smith said: “Once again CHS’s students have done themselves proud with another set of outstanding results and I speak on behalf of all of the staff in wishing Year 11 congratulations – not only for their grades, but also in their attitude and approach to their studies during these particularly testing times. Their success is a huge achievement and I’m delighted that their grades truly reflect their continued endeavour.”

“I’m especially impressed with those who have thrown themselves into life at CHS and achieved high grades regardless of their busy schedules and commitment to numerous co-curricular activities; organisational skills that will come in handy for the next step of their CHS journey as part of the Lower Sixth. I look forward to seeing them continue to thrive at the School as they delve into their chosen subjects whilst adapting to their new responsibilities and leadership.”

Among the 2020 cohort of Year 11 students now looking forward to honing their interests through further study from their new base in CHS’s Sixth Form Centre, top performers include Miliani (11 x 9s) and Elizabeth (10 x 9s and an 8), with Cameron, Rosie, twin sisters Lucy and Sophie, and Emily all achieving 10 x 9s each.

Following the continued success of CHS’s academic Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in Sixth Form, 2020 is also the first year CHS has offered the Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) to Year 10 students, which has seen 100% of HPQ candidates achieving grades A*-A.
