U13 Netball Retain Winning Title

U13 Netball team have retained their winning title as champions of the ISNC.

The team beat Putney High School 49 -33 at Hertfordshire University. After winning the cup last year, pressure was on for the team to defend their title.

Captain, Daisy said: “I think we were all nervous but excited going in to the final. Winning last year made us feel confident but you also know that other teams are going to be working hard to beat you.”

Team member, Martha said: “We were expected to do well because we won last year so that was a bit of pressure but we work really well as a team and know how to encourage each other.”

Playing a good team meant at some points in the match the girls say they felt like they might not win. However, after a tough game the girls managed to work hard and win the trophy for the second year in a row.

Goal Keeper, Faye said: “It feel really good to win but we didn’t celebrate too much because we knew we had to keep working hard for the next final.”

On 25 March the team will play the same opposition for the Sisters in Sport National Cup Final. The team are again defending their winning title from last year.

Daisy said: “Playing the same team again I feel confident as we now know some of their tactics but they also know some of ours.”

Martha said: “It will be really good to have some students and staff from School come and watch us. Having a crowd cheering you on really helps.”

Faye said: “If we win the next final it will feel like more of a celebration because we have won both cups two years in a row. Since winning the last cup it has been nice walking round School and teachers telling us ‘well done’.”

We wish the best of luck to the team in their next final!
